Dear East Palo Alto City or Code Enforcement Office,
My name is Natalie, and I live on E Okeefe St, East Palo Alto. I am writing to formally report two pressing issues on the vacant lots at the corner of East O’Keefe and Euclid Avenue.
First, the fencing on the lots has netting that is not securely fastened. When the wind blows, the netting extends onto the sidewalk, forcing pedestrians to step into the street to avoid injury. This is a serious safety hazard.
Second, the cleanliness of the area is extremely poor. Dog feces are scattered across the sidewalk, along small patches of dirt around the lot, and on all edges facing the street. This creates an unsanitary and foul-smelling environment for residents who walk by.
I kindly request that the city conduct an inspection and take immediate steps to secure the netting and enforce regular cleaning. If possible, please ensure the property owner is held responsible for these maintenance obligations.
I have attached photographs of the netting and dog waste to support my concerns. I kindly ask for a follow-up response detailing what actions will be taken and the anticipated timeline. Your prompt attention is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Natalie Cervantes
