Human Resources offices are open Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Applications for employment are accepted only for positions that are currently open. An official City Application and any required supplemental materials must be received by the Human Resources Department by the deadline time and date stated on the job announcement.

If the City of East Palo Alto does not have a position open that you are interested in applying, you may complete an employment interest card. You can also subscribe to job posting notifications to be automatically alerted of the latest career opportunity by clicking on the Notify Me button. 

Upon receiving an application for an open position, an acknowledgement email or letter will be sent to you. The Human Resources Department will contact applicants selected for interviews after the position's specified closing date. Depending on the position, you may meet with one or more individuals in the hiring department, including the supervisor for the position. Some positions require you to meet with an interview panel (oral examination). After the interviews are complete, the human resources manager will extend a contingent offer to the most qualified candidate. If you are selected for employment, you will be required to meet and participate in pre-employment requirements pending the results of this criteria, a final offer may be extended by the City Manager. You will also be required to present proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Some positions may also require a physical examination for which the City will arrange and pay.
