Peninsula Resilience Planning (PREP)/Safety Element Update Virtual Workshop #3
San Mateo County, Atherton, Belmont, Brisbane, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, and San Bruno are working collaboratively on the Peninsula Resilience Planning (PREP) project. PREP is a project to study how natural hazards and climate change will harm our communities, and to plan for a safer and more resilient future. Understanding climate hazards, preparing for them, and being better able to respond and recover from them helps make our communities safe and resilient. The PREP Project will result in climate change vulnerability assessments and updated General Plan Safety Elements.
We want to hear from community members about potential strategies to address natural hazards such as flooding and sea level rise, wildfire, earthquakes, extreme heat, landslides, and severe weather. Join us at an upcoming virtual workshop on Zoom to review our vulnerability assessment findings and share your thoughts on draft resilience strategies. Community feedback is critical to ensuring the Safety Element addresses priority vulnerabilities and improves community resilience , so we want to hear from you!
The workshop will be held virtually on Zoom, Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Please register at this link: https://bit.ly/3Z7DKbO or the QR Code below.
