New Fireworks Ordinance

New Fireworks Ordinance Now in Effect
The City of East Palo Alto has enacted a new fireworks ordinance aimed at promoting public safety and reducing illegal fireworks activity in our neighborhoods. Under the updated law, property owners and individuals in control of a property can now be held responsible for any fireworks activity that takes place on their premises—whether or not they personally set off the fireworks.
In addition, the ordinance now legalizes the use of Safe and Sane fireworks within city limits, providing a lawful way for residents to celebrate responsibly. Safe and Sane fireworks are those approved by the State of California and do not explode or launch into the air.
We encourage all residents to review the new ordinance, celebrate safely, and help us keep our community free from the dangers of illegal fireworks.
