Suspect arrested on serious charges
On Tuesday night, August 11, 2026, investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division of the East Palo Alto Police Department, in cooperation with the Newark Police Department and Fremont Police Department, served an arrest warrant and a search warrant on Port Sailwood Drive, in Newark.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ricardo Herrera Castillo was taken into custody without incident and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for PC 207(A): Kidnapping, PC 273.5(A): Domestic Violence, PC 236: False Imprisonment, PC 422(A): Terrorist Threats, and PC 646.9: Stalking.
The East Palo Alto Police Department had been working diligently on this case since the reported domestic violence kidnapping and attack happened, the morning of August 7, 2026. The victim in this case is safe and recovering.
