Project Description: 

The applicant requests a modification to a 2022 Design Permit (DR 19-028), approved by the City Council on November 15, 2022. The 2022 entitlement included a general plan amendment, a zoning text amendment, a zoning map amendment, an environmental review, a vesting tentative map, a design permit, a conditional use permit, and a development agreement to allow the demolition of 161 existing units and the construction of 605 new units within three new buildings. 

The enclosed design permit modification includes the following changes from the 2022 Entitled Plans:
• Reduction in residential units from 605 to 551 (420 units in Building A, 131 units in Building B)
• Consolidation of Buildings 1 and 2 (shown above) into one building with greater lot coverage and reduced setbacks (shown below as Building A)
• Reduction in maximum height for Buildings 1 and 2 from 9-13 stories to 8 stories
• Increase in maximum height for Building 3 from 5 stories to 8 stories
• Addition of mechanical stacker parking and new driveway/curb cut to Building 3
• New rooftop open space and pool in Building 1
• Note that no changes are proposed to the proposed off-site water tank
