Citizen Complaint

Hello, 

I live on 954 Baines St, East Palo Alto, CA and have lived here for 23 years. 

I was given a ticket last night for what the officer claimed was a missed stop at a stop sign. I take that street home from work several times each week and haven’t done that mistake in the past. Last night, a passenger bus came into the street and its bulk size and wide turn caused me to get distracted. The Officer pulled me over and told me I missed a stop, I apologized and mentioned I am very careful going home this way and it was an honest mistake.

Hi, I live on 132 Grace Avenue and illegal parking is a constant hassle here. We live on a cul-de-sac, a dead end street, so neighbors think it is ok to leave their cars parked wherever. We always have trouble getting out of our own home. Police is non responsive to calls and never come to enforce parking. It is especially bad when a particular neighbor (131 grace ave) has parties every few weekends and their guests' cars get piled on. It is not safe. We might not be able to get out in case of emergency.

Someone dumped a Love seat on Green street at the corner of cooley.  Please have it removed before more dumping occurs here.

I have twice been to the East Palo Alto library in the past week for multiple hours at a time. Once on a Tuesday evening and a Saturday morning.  On both occasions there was a strong odor of marijuana smoke inside the library. There seems to be rampant drug use inside the library. there were also a group of adolescents raising their voices playing video games and listening to loud music. I believe they may have been responsible for the drug use too. 

A barber shop is operating in the 2200 block of Menalto Avenue in a converted Recreation Vehicle. I would like to see a copy of his encroachment permit and business license. The trailer is also being used for sleeping at night.  There is also another recreational vehicle that is being used as home at the same location. I would like to get a copy of the policy that governs recreational vehicles on residential streets.
