US101/ University Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing and Interchange Project

City of East Palo Alto is pleased to announce the successful completion of the New Pedestrian Bridge over US101/University Avenue. Project partners expressed appreciation for the collaborative effort and emphasized the value of multimodal transportation access for the East Palo Alto Community

Funding.  Funding for the project has been provided from Federal (HPP Grant), State (SB1 Grant), and Local (SMCTA and Stanford Recreation Mitigation Grants) sources.  The construction project will be administered by the City and Ghirardelli Associates.

The City publicly acknowledges the Grant by receiving credit to the County in the project-related materials including newsletters, brochures, and internet messages.

This project has been awarded by City Council to MCM Construction on 4/4/2023. The project notice to proceed has been issued in July and construction is estimated to begin late Summer. The project plan set can be found here.
